Society holds annual meeting

With 30 memberships paid for 2023 and fifteen Hardin County Agricultural Society members present, the meeting was brought to order with President Brad Murphy presiding.

The minutes of last year’s annual meeting were read.  Jake McFadden moved they be approved as read.  Jack McBride seconded the motion.  Motion passed unanimously.

Craig Stump moved to have membership tickets continue to be $2.00 with the purchase of a season ticket at $25.  Jake McFadden seconded the motion.  Motion passed unanimously.

It was noted membership tickets can be purchased in the secretary’s office, at the fairgrounds, during regular business hours on Wednesday and Fridays from 9am-4pm, starting Friday, December 2nd, 2022 and runs until Friday, October 14th, 2023.  A season ticket for $25 needs to be purchased first and then the $2 membership ticket can be purchased.  The membership ticket gives the member right to vote in the annual fair board director election and gives the person right to run for a fair board director position.

Craig Stump and Dan Beale moved to have the Director’s pay set at $1.  The motion passed unanimously.

The annual conflict of interest document for 2022/23 was given to every director to sign.

Judi also stated that petitions are available in the secretary’s office, for any director position up for re-election in the year 2023.

Next year’s annual meeting, with the annual election to be held on the same day from 3-7pm, will be on Saturday, Nov. 4th, 2023, at 7:30pm in the Community Building (unless the building is being rented and then it would be in the Arts/Crafts Building).
